About Aquatic Moon
Founded in 2012 by veteran artist and character designer Trent Kaniuga, Aquatic Moon is a boutique game art studio specializing in concept art, illustration, and visual development. Building on Trent's 20+ years of experience in the game industry—including roles at Capcom, Blizzard Entertainment, and Riot Games—the studio has contributed artwork to some of the world's most recognizable franchises, including Fortnite, World of Warcraft, Diablo III, League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, Hearthstone, and Overwatch, as well as original properties such as Twilight Monk, CreeD, and Ikeda.
We specialize in visual development, helping establish the artistic direction, workflows, and production pipelines that guide projects from early concept through production. In addition to concept art and illustration, we also provide UI design, game design, and programming services, allowing us to support projects across multiple stages of development.
In 2023, Aquatic Moon signed a publishing agreement with Gravity Game Arise to develop Twilight Monk, a hand-drawn Metroidvania based on Trent Kaniuga's illustrated novel series. The game launched in 2025 for PC and Nintendo Switch.
